Rav said: As soon as man goes forth from Halachic to Scripture study he no longer has peace. And Shmuel said: It means one who leaves Talmud for Mishnah. And Rav Yochanan said: Even from Talmud to Talmud.
Rashi explains, from Talmud to Talmud: from Talmud Yerushalmi to Talmud Bavli, since the former one is deeper.

Talmud Bavli, Chagigah, 10a
Rashi Chagigah 10a, d.h from Talmud to Talmud

We would like to thank everyone who participated in our previous polls. It was a great help in deciding what type of quality and size should our MP3 files be distributed in and what media should the shiurim be distributed on. Per the results of the poll, we are now distributing the shiurim on both CDs and DVDs.

Dear Rabbi,

Thanks for the initiative!

I have recently starting learning Yerushalmi using your shiurim. I live in Alon Shvut and work in Motza, just outside of Jerusalem. I have been listening to your shiurim on the first 15 dapim of Berachot as I drive to and from work. I try to review what I have learned in the shiur using a Gemarah the next day.

Here in Israel we give rides to hitch-hikers, so lots of bewildered hitch-hikers are also hearing your shiurim!

Regards,

Sam Michelson

Rabbi Bechhofer,

My name is Gil Margulis and I have been greatly enjoying listening to your Talmud Yerusalmi Shuir. As I learn Daf Yomi, I listen to the sections of the Yerusalmi as they correspond to the Daf Yomi cycle in the Bavli. I was recently in Israel when the cycle of Yerusalmi ended and to my disappointment, there was no "Sium HaShas" as there was earlier this year for the Bavli. I asked the Rabbis who publish new editions of the Yerusalmi in Israel about a Sium event and they laughed in a nice way - the learning of Yerusalmi has not gotten to that level yet.

I always listen to your shuirim while driving and with it on I don't mind waiting at lights or even a little traffic. Although Artscroll is finally starting to publish the Yerusalmi - your shuir is the only thing like it that opens up Talmud Eretz Yisrael and wanted to thank you personally. I am going to be in Monsey this coming Motzei Shabbat for an event and would like to know if it was possible to take a few minutes of your time and meet you in person. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity.

Again many thanks for your excellent work and lots of continued success,

Gil Margulis
